Nelson Oliveira, who transferred to AEK last summer from Norwich City, is wanted by Wolves in the English Premier League. According to reports, Wolves have engaged in detailed negotiations concerning a possible transfer, and it must be noted that Oliveira has a release clause amounting to 6.5 million euros in his AEK contract.

Portuguese media outlets are now reporting that Wolves have submitted a second bid of 4.5 million for Oliveira. However, AEK are demanding six million.

Wolves are still hopeful of getting the deal over the line.

So far, Oliveira has been a consistent performer in the Super League for AEK since joining from Norwich City in the off-season, registering nine goals and three assists in 15 matches. The 28-year-old Portuguese forward is valued at 3.5 million euros by Transfermarkt.

Oliveira was left out of the starting line-up against Volos NFC on Wednesday.

ARAUJO LINK CONTINUES

AEK are widely expected to complete the signing of popular Argentine forward Sergio Araujo once Oliveira leaves.

It was previously reported that AEK must wait until Oliveira joins Wolves to proceed with the formal process of signing Araujo.

Recently, Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez spoke to gazzetta.gr, confirming that he expects Araujo to leave: “I think that the Araujo case will be closed over the course of this weekend, he wants to leave because he can earn more money at AEK. Nevertheless, if the matter is not resolved by Monday, he will continue to train with us.”

In the 2019/2020 season, Araujo has been hampered by injuries at Las Palmas, with the 27-year-old having only participated in four La Liga 2 games. In the past, Araujo won the hearts of the AEK faithful during two separate spells in Athens, notably helping the club win the Super League in 2018.

LACI TO SIGN

Ziga Laci, a talented 17-year-old defender from Slovenia, has arrived in Athens to complete his transfer to AEK from Mura.

Standing 189 centimeters tall, Laci is a commanding figure in the centre of defence, having caught the eye in Slovenia with his solid showings for Mura. Ilija Ivic, the AEK technical director, spotted plenty of potential in Laci, subsequently deciding to sign him with a view to the future. It remains to be seen if he will be able to immediately challenge for a place in the AEK first team.

Laci has made four appearances for the under 19 Slovenian national team since making his debut in August 2019. He has scored one goal in four First Division games for Mura this season.
