The Greek U21 national team defeated Georgia 3:0 in their final friendly before they kick off their Euro 2021 qualifying campaign on Monday.

The Greece U21’s put together a great display in Thursday’s international friendly against Georgia as they marched on to a convincing 3:0 victory. It was Greece’s final preparation match before the Ethniki Elpidon kick off their Euro 2021 qualifying campaign on Monday.

Marios Vrousai opened the scoring in the 29th minute with Dimitris Limnios providing the assist and just five minutes later, Limnios was back in the action as he won a penalty, which was successfully converted by Vangelis Pavlidis.

Giannis Ikonomidis capped off a great match for the Greeks, taking advantage of a defensive blunder to slot home Greece’s third goal of the game in the 68th minute.

Antonis Nikopolidis’ players will now turn their attention to the Euro 2021 qualifiers, where they will fight in Group 4 along with Croatia, Czech Republic, Scotland, and San Marino. Greece will host minnows San Marino on Monday in their opening qualifier.

Greece U21 Starting XI: Stergiakis, Weiss, Katranis, Nikolaou, Dimitriou, Milojevic, Tsiggaras, Pavlidis, Vrousai, Kampetsis, Limnios.
