APOLLON SMYRNIS 0-0 PAS GIANNINA

Two of the main candidates for promotion played to a goalless draw at the Georgios Kamaras Stadium. Taking into account that they were the hosts, Apollon Smyrnis would have expected to gain all three points, but the Athens-based club had to be content with just the one. This draw snapped PAS Giannina’s two-game winning streak.

Both Apollon Smyrnis and PAS remain undefeated after six rounds. Boasting 14 points, Apollon occupy first place of the table, while PAS are two points behind in second.

APOLLON LARISSA 3-1 ERGOTELIS

Apollon Larissa gained their first Super League 2 win in five matches as they breezed past struggling Ergotelis 3-1 at home.

Playing on the front foot, Apollon Larissa gained a two-goal advantage in the first half, as Gustavo Balotelli scored twice from close range. Michalis Bastakos subsequently increased the lead to three in the 50th minute.

Joseph Efford did grab a consolation for Ergotelis in the latter stages, however it made little difference to the outcome. Ergotelis languish in 10th place, but Apollon Larissa have climbed to eighth.

APOLLON PONTOU 1-0 AOK KERKYRA

Kerkyra are in major trouble. Bottom of the table with a three-point deduction, Kerkyra have lost all of their league games so far this season, and they conceded yet another defeat this weekend as Apollon Pontou emerged victorious 1-0. Michael Olaitan scored the only goal in the 75th minute.

Apollon Pontou are now on -3 points after they were deducted six points from the standings by the Hellenic Football Federation.

AE KARAISKAKIS 0-0 FC CHANIA

Karaiskakis and Chania, locked on eight points each in the middle of the table, played to a rather uneventful 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon.

Chances were at a premium in the match as the sides cancelled each other out. It’s worth pointing out that Karaiskakis have not won a game in the championship since October 26.
