Levadiakos earn key three points against Ergotelis

Levadiakos defeated Ergotelis 1-0 at home to earn their third victory of the 2019/2020 Super League 2 campaign.

Having taken just the one point from their last two games, Levadiakos did manage to get back to winning ways on Friday afternoon against visitors Ergotelis, as young forward Fotis Ioannidis struck the only goal of proceedings in the first half.

With eight matches in the books, Levadiakos currently occupy fourth place of the table with 11 points, but teams around them have a game in hand. Ergotelis, for their part, cannot build up any consistency and still languish in ninth spot.

Levadiakos, starting strongly, made their dominance count in the 31st minute.

Displaying wonderful skill, Greece U21 international Ioannidis danced his way beyond the entire Ergotelis defence, subsequently slotting his low effort into the right corner.

The hosts continued to control the game well during the second half. Ergotelis, for all of their huffing and puffing, failed to apply sustained pressure on Levadiakos.

Ergotelis did have one chance to snatch a point in the final minute, but an attempt from long distance sailed over the bar with the Levadiakos goalkeeper scrambling.

Levadiakos will face FC Chania on the road in their next Super League 2 game, while Ergotelis take on Doxa in Drama.
