The 18-year-old from Chania on the island of Crete won gold in the Keirin and Sprint races, both of which are Olympic events. Livanos also finished in fourth place in the 1 km Time Trial event. As a result of his two gold medals, Greece finished in third place in the medal count at the event which took place in Frankfurt. Hosts Germany took first place, winning nine medals with five of them being gold.

Although 2020 might be too soon for Livanos to make his Olympic debut, the future of Greek cycling appears to be in good hands. It must also be noted that these were Greeceā€™s first medals at the annual Junior World Championships in over a decade.
