Last month’s draw was held for the next UEFA Nations’ League to take place between September and November 2020. Greece are in League C and were drawn into Group 3 alongside Slovenia, Kosovo, and Moldova.
It’s a group that the Ethniki will be expected to advance from, however one that includes sides with some fantastic individual players. In fact, according to Transfermrkt, Greece are not the most valuable team in the group.
Here is a team-by-team market value breakdown along with each team’s most valuable player:
Slovenia
Squad Market Value: €162.25 million
Most valuable player: Jan Oblak - €100 million
Greece
Squad Market Value: 82.85 million
Most valuable player: Odysseus Vlachodimos - €15 million
*Not including Kostas Manolas who is worth €40 million
Kosovo
Squad Market Value: €29.43 million
Most valuable player: Amir Rahmani - €12 million
Moldova
Squad Market Value: €19.35 million
Most valuable player: Artur Ionita - €4.5 million
Greece’s value is lower due to the fact that the market values from Transfermrkt are based on the last squad. Therefore, some of the team’s highest valued players such as Kostas Manolas (€40 million) and others (Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Kostas Fortounis) are not within the list.
