Kostas Mitroglou was subbed off in the 21st minute of Greece’s opening qualifier against Lichtenstein after suffering a calf injury. Initial reports mentioned that the Greek striker was taken off as a precaution to avoid a more serious injury, however coach Angelos Anastasiadis in a postgame interview officially ruled him unavailable for Tuesday’s clash.

The Ethniki boss will call up an additional striker in Mitroglou’s place for the trip to Bosnia with the name expected to be released tonight or by tomorrow. Mitroglou’s absence adds yet another injury problem to the Greek squad after Panagiotis Retsos, Kostas Manolas, Vasilis Torosidis, Konstantinos Stafylidis, Dimitris Pelkas were already unavailable for the two matches. Petros Mantalos was also ruled out after originally being called up and was replaced by Dimitris Kolovetsios.

In more positive news. Sokratis Papastathopoulos is expected to be fit against Bosnia and will likely partner Dimitris Siovas in the center of defense.
