On Saturday, Olympiacos announced the deal by posting a photo on their social networking accounts stating that an agreement has been reached with Everton. According to reports in Greece and England, Mirallas joins Olympiacos on a loan until the end of the 2017/2018 season, but the Greek champions have an option to purchase Mirallas in the summer.

The Belgian, who hasn’t played in the Premier League for Everton since Sam Allardyce took over, was eager to make a return to Piraeus. Mirallas is expected to immediately fly to Greece, before participating in Olympiacos’ upcoming matches in the Super League and Greek Cup.

Mirallas starred for Olympiacos during his first spell with the club, scoring an impressive 34 league goals in just two seasons. He has a superb record of finding the net against Olympiacos’ biggest rivals, hitting the target a combined eight times against Panathinaikos, AEK and PAOK. Asides from playing in Greece, Mirallas has competed for Lille, Saint-Etienne and Everton. Mirallas became a popular figure in England, netting vital goals while representing Everton. However, he was surplus to requirements in this campaign.

In 56 Belgian national team appearances, Mirallas has scored ten goals. Olympiacos fans will be hoping that Mirallas can find his scoring touch with the Thrylos again, as the Greek title race heats up even further.
