In the morning, Giorgos Savvidis posted images on his Instagram account which hinted that a new player was on his way to Thessaloniki, despite previous reports stating that PAOK had ended their activity on the market:

Later on, following the completion of the PAOK - PAS Giannina (2:1) match in the Super League, Savvidis uploaded another picture which all but confirmed the club have decided to sign Oliveira:

According to various reports, 26-year-old Oliveira will join PAOK on a six-month loan from parent club FC Porto, with the midfielder expected to arrive in Thessaloniki on Thursday in order to complete the formalities of the deal.

This season, Oliveira has made 17 appearances for Porto across all competitions, contributing with two goals and two assists. Nevertheless, he has rarely been included in the starting line-up, and he will be hoping to receive more playing time with PAOK.

The midfielder has been on the books of Porto since his professional career began, however he has been sent on loans to Beira Mar, Mechelen, Penafiel, Pacos Ferreira and Nantes. Oliveira made his debut for the senior Portuguese national team in September 2018 and boasts three caps.

PASCHALAKIS’ NEW CONTRACT CONFIRMED

In other news, PAOK confirmed that goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis has extended his contract through to 2022 with this statement on their official website:

“PAOK FC announces the renewal of its partnership with Alexandros Paschalakis until June 2022.”

Having joined PAOK in the summer of 2017, Paschalakis has transformed into one of the leading goalkeepers in the Super League, starring with excellent performances between the sticks in Thessaloniki. In the current season, the 29-year-old has competed in 18 Super League games, conceding seven goals while tallying 11 clean sheets. He is yet to represent the senior Greek national team.
