Olympiacos advance to Water Polo League Finals

Olympiacos swept Ethnikos Piraeus in two games to advance to the A1 Water Polo League Finals for a seventh consecutive season.

Olympiacos defeated Ethnikos Piraeus 9:16 in game two of the A1 Water Polo League semi-final series and swept their opponents with a 2:0 series win. The visitors were never threatened by their Piraeus rivals as their lead increased to seven (3:10) by halftime. Alexandros Gounas led Olympiacos with five goals.

Olympiacos were comfortable winners in the opening game of the series with a 9:3 scoreline as Fountoulis pushed the Reds to victory with five goals.

Olympiacos will meet either Apollon Smyrnis or Vouliagmeni in the Finals with that series tied at 1:1 after Apollon Smyrnis shocked Vouliagmeni with a 9:8 victory in Saturday’s game two.
