The Erythrolefki will certainly be favourites to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League for the second consecutive year. On Tuesday, the draw for the qualification playoffs of the competition took place, with Olympiacos being paired up with the winner of the Omonia Nicosia - Red Star Belgrade tie. Many will expect Olympiacos to beat either of these teams.

Naturally, Red Star are widely predicted to defeat Omonia in the upcoming third qualifying round but the Cypriot champions have already proven their worth in the tournament by beating Ararat Yerevan and Legia Warsaw on the road. Omonia have been selected as the host club for the duel.

In the playoffs, Olympiacos will welcome their opponents to the Karaiskakis Stadium on September 22/23, before the second leg is subsequently staged on September 29/30.

Interestingly, in the 2019/2020 Champions League group phase, Olympiacos lost 1-3 to Red Star on the road and managed to later defeat the Serbians 1-0 in Piraeus.

EUROPA LEAGUE BATTLES SET

In the Europa League, AEK have been given a tricky test in the third qualifying round, with the Enosi pitted against Swiss side St. Gallen. Furthermore, just to complicate matters further for Massimo Carrera’s troops, the one-legged tie will be played in Switzerland.

The game is scheduled to be played on September 24:

Elsewhere in the same tournament, Aris now know that they will play against Rijeka if they progress past Kolos Kovalivka in the second qualifying round, while OFI will compete with Hammarby or Lech Poznan in the event that they beat Apollon Limassol.
