Panachaiki and Platanias share points in four-goal draw

Platanias fought back twice away to Panachaiki to salvage a point in the opening fixture of matchday 11 in the Super League 2.

In a match where the power went out on two (!) occasions, Panacahiki and Platanias shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. After both sides had good chances to open the scoring in the early stages of the game, Panachaiki struck first when Polimos’ fantastic effort from outside the penalty area found the back of the net in the 25th minute. The lead was short-lived, however, as Kostikos equalized from a Platanias corner. 

In the 39th minute, it was Mavrias who restored the hosts’ lead before the lights went out at the Kostas Davourlis Stadium in Patra for a second game running, after a similar incident occurred against Apollon Smyrnis. 

Ten minutes after the restart, Platanias fought back for the second time in the match as Leiria’s unstoppable shot left no chance to the Pnachaiki goalkeeper, leveling the score at 2-2. 

Panachaiki created chances in the second half, but another stoppage due to a second power outage in the 63rd minute cut the hosts’ momentum. After the delay, both teams came out quite “cold,” and the match ended in a 2-2 draw. 

The result keeps Pancahiki in seventh place while Platanias move into a three-way tie for fourth place with 17 points.
