Panachaiki move into second place along with PAS Giannina in the Super League 2 standings after defeating Levadiakos 1-0 on Monday.

A lone goal in the fourth minute from Moraitis, who got the final touch on Polimos’ cross, was enough for Panachaiki to defeat Levadiakos on Monday evening in the final fixture of matchday six in the Super League 2. With the exception of the goal, the first half was rather dull with few chances for each side. Levadiakos increased their pressure in the second half as they looked for an equalizer, but their chances went begging with the hosts holding on for an important three points.

Panachaiki took full advantage of Sunday’s draw between PAS Giannina and Apollon Smyrnis as the Patra side jumped into second place, along with PAS, in the Super League 2 standings on 12 points. Apollon Smyrnis lead the race with 14 points from their first six matches. Levadiakos, on the other hand, are tied for ninth with just seven points and have fallen behind early on in the chase for promotion.
