Panathinaikos’ remained undefeated at home this season after coming from behind to defeat Real Madrid 82-80 at the OAKA Olympic stadium.
Panathinaikos trailed by as many as 14-points, but managed to hold off the Spanish giants in the final moments of the game. James Gist converted from the free throw line to put Panathinaikos ahead 82-80 with 15 seconds left in the game. Real Madrid failed to convert on the final possession as Panathinaikos remained undefeated at home this season.
Panathinaikos record improved to 6-3 while RealMadrid drop to 5-4 after nine rounds of regular season play.
The Greek champions had four players in double-digits with Rivers (20 points), Gist (15 points, 7 rebounds) and Calathes (12 points, 8 assists) leading the team’s comeback in the third quarter.
