Panathinaikos weren’t given a challenge by Larisa on matchday six of the Basket League season, easing to a routine 110-68 victory on the road.

Having beaten Anadolu Efes in the EuroLeague on Thursday, reigning Greek champions Panathinaikos were full of confidence, and they easily defeated Basket League newcomers Larisa away from home by a large 42 points. Panathinaikos are still unbeaten in the domestic championship as they continue to comfortably beat all of their opponents.

Larisa have lost five of their six games in the Basket League.

Johnny Berhanemeskel registered 20 points, six assists and three rebounds for Larisa. Deshaun Thomas and Tyrese Rice both scored 14 points for Panathinaikos.

Panathinaikos travel to Promitheas Patras next week, while Larisa make the trip to Rhodes for a game against Kolossos.

THE MATCH

As usual, Panathinaikos immediately asserted themselves on the game, outscoring their opponents 29-15 to take a big lead.

Panathinaikos scored a minimum of 25 points per period.

For their part, Larisa were at their best in the second quarter, as they scored 21 points compared to Panathinaikos’ 25.

Panathinaikos will now switch their attentions to the EuroLeague as they welcome Valencia to the OAKA Indoor Hall on Friday.
