19-year old Leo Jaba joined Akhmat Grozny in July 2017, but after just one season in Russia, he opted to make the move to Greece. Despite interest from Russian Premier League clubs CSKA Moscow and Zenit Saint Petersburg, PAOK managed to get their man, signing Jaba for a reported five million euros. Jaba has put pen to paper on a contract which will keep him in Thessaloniki until 2023, earning around one million per calendar year.

On Friday morning, PAOK announced the deal on their official website:

“PAOK FC can announce the transfer of Leo Jaba from Akhmat Grozny. The 19-year old Brazilian has signed a contract with the Dikefalos which runs to 2023.”

Yesterday, Giorgos Savvidis, son of PAOK owner Ivan, posted a video to his Instagram page showing Jaba signing his contract with the Dikefalos tou Vorra:

When 11 years of age, Leo Jaba was picked up by Corinthians, eventually making three league appearances with the senior team. Last summer, the Brazilian, who can play either on the left wing or as a striker, transferred to Akhmat Grozny of the Russian Premier League, scoring three goals in 24 championship matches. Jaba has also represented Brazil’s under 21 team on 11 occasions.

PAOK have flown out to Holland for the first training camp of the summer with Leo Jaba included in the squad.
