PAOK confirm loan deal for left-back Tosca
 

PAOK have announced the signing of left-back Alin Tosca, taking the Romanian on loan from Real Betis for the 2018/2019 campaign.

On Friday, 26-year old Tosca flew into Thessaloniki in order to complete his move from Real Betis, where he struggled to make an impression. Since joining Betis in January 2017, Tosca failed to receive regular playing time in La Liga, eventually shifted out to Italian club Benevento in early 2018. Tosca, who plays on the left side of defence, is hoping to revive his fortunes with the Dikefalos tou Vorra and PAOK announced his arrival on a one-year loan with this following statement:

“PAOK FC announces the arrival of Alin Tosca from Real Betis in the form of a loan with an option to purchase the player on a permanent basis in 2019.”

After the deal became official, Tosca shared his emotions from the transfer to Greece: “When I heard the word PAOK, I immediately think of European competitions, that’s the most important thing for me,” revealed Tosca. “PAOK have great ambitions, a really good project and an excellent coach. In my opinion, PAOK boast the best supporters in Greece. I will give everything for my team.”
 

Born in the Romanian city of Alexandria, Tosca began his career with giants Steaua Bucharest, later playing for Unirea Urziceni, Sageata Navodar, Viitorul, Real Betis and Benevento. In the 2017/2018 season, he made 13 appearances in Serie A and he does have six senior national team caps to his name. 

Incidentally, Tosca is good friends with PAOK centre-back Fernando Varela after the two previously played together at Steaua Bucharest.
