On Thursday, PAOK released this following statement:

“PAOK BC announces an agreement with American basketball player Bobby Brown until the completion of the 2019-20 season. Bobby Brown is expected to arrive in Thessaloniki on Friday evening to immediately join the PAOK team.”

The news comes days after Ivan Savvidis, the owner of PAOK FC, reportedly agreed to make a cash injection into the financially stricken basketball organisation.

Clint Chapman has also been heavily linked with PAOK.

Brown, 35, played for Aris between 2010 and 2011, before representing Olympiacos for a brief spell in 2018. Despite having been undrafted in the 2007 NBA Draft, the point guard did play in the world’s biggest league, sporting the jersey of the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers. Brown left the NBA in 2010.

He last played for the Shanxi Brave Dragons in China.

At the moment, PAOK are languishing at the bottom of the Basket League table, and they are also in last place of their group in the Basketball Champions League.
