Leading 2-0 from the first leg in Thessaloniki, PAOK were in a commanding position before a ball was kicked at the Olympic Stadium, and an early goal from Karol Swiderski quickly killed all intrigue.

PAOK have won the Greek Cup in the past three consecutive seasons. This victory avenges a recent 2-0 setback to Panathinaikos on the road in the Super League.

THE MATCH

Flying out of the blocks, PAOK made a quick start at the OAKA, and they ended the tie as a contest with 11 minutes.

Receiving a wonderful pass from Dimitris Pelkas, Swiderski found himself in a perfect position, and the ruthless Polish striker subsequently beat Sokratis Dioudis with a pinpoint attempt.

Hit by that decisive blow, Panathinaikos struggled to regain composure, and Ilias Chatzitheodoridis had a rare attempt comfortably stopped by the alert Alexandros Paschalakis.

PAOK, for their part, continued to threaten, with Dimitris Giannoulis and Diego Biseswar missing promising opportunities for more goals.

The second half, in truth, was nothing more than a formality, with Panathinaikos somehow needing to score four goals in one set of 45 minutes.

At times, the Prasini did show real endeavour with Federico Macheda trying his luck on a couple of occasions, but PAOK easily saw the match out.

THE TEAMS

Panathinaikos: Dioudis, Chatzitheodoridis, Schenkeveld, Poungouras, Johansson, Kourbelis, Nagy (Ayoub 46’), Donis, Zahid (Bouzoukis 70’), Chatzigiovanis (Perea 58’), Macheda.
