PAOK meet Panathinaikos in Greek Cup quarter-finals

Reigning champions PAOK, looking to win their fourth Greek Cup on the spin, will meet Panathinaikos in the quarter-final stage of the competition.

PAOK, winners of the Greek Cup in the past three consecutive years, have been pitted against Panathinaikos in the quarter-finals of the 2019/2020 edition of the tournament, a match-up which could prove to be very exciting indeed if the latter show their best football. In the Last 16, Panathinaikos defeated PAS Giannina 3-2 on aggregate in dramatic circumstances, while PAOK breezed past OFI.

The Aris - Atromitos duel is evenly balanced without a clear favourite. On the contrary, Olympiacos are widely expected to beat Lamia in their quarter-final, but it’s worth remembering that the Erythrolefki were knocked out by the very same opponent in 2019.

The winner of the AEK - Asteras Tripolis Last 16 tie, which is yet to be completed, will face Panetolikos. AEK will host the second leg of the Round of 16 against Asteras at the Olympic Stadium on January 30 with the score level at 1-1 after the first game in Tripoli.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be held between February 4-6, before the return matches are played a week later (February 11-13).
