AEK 75-79 RASTA VECHTA (GROUP B)

The Athenians conceded a surprise home defeat against their German opponents at the OAKA Indoor Hall, a setback which is their first loss in the Greek capital this season.

Following an even first quarter, AEK put themselves in the box seat in the second by winning it 22-15, but that was as good as it got for the 2017/2018 winners. All of a sudden, Vechta started dominating proceedings in the third period, and they ended up clinching it by 14 points.

AEK did fight back in the fourth period, but Vechta held on to seal an important victory - their fourth of the competition.

Howard Sant-Roos was the leading AEK scorer with 21 points to his name.

AEK travel to Anwil Wlocklawek next week as they aim to get back to winning ways. RASTA Vechta will welcome San Pablo Burgos to their home ground.

PAOK 93-78 ZARAGOZA (GROUP D)

The Dikefalos tou Vorra are starting to gain momentum in the Basketball Champions League. Initially, PAOK started with four consecutive defeats, but they have now won two in a row as they get back into playoff contention.

PAOK started well as they scored 30 points in the first quarter. In the second period, Zaragoza got to within one point of PAOK, but the Greeks subsequently won the concluding two frames with confidence to tally a crucial victory.

Adam Smith enjoyed a superb night for PAOK as he registered 31 points.

PAOK will play against Telekom Baskets Bonn in their next European game. Zaragoza host Happy Casa Brindisi.

BAMBERG 72-69 PERISTERI (GROUP C)

Peristeri, who began the season in wonderful form, have now conceded three defeats in the past four Basketball Champions League games as they begin to struggle with competing in three tournaments.

To their credit, Peristeri stuck with their German hosts throughout the entire game, keeping it close and threatening to earn a hugely important victory. Nevertheless, they fell short in the fourth quarter, with Bamberg just about keeping Peristeri at bay.

Kingsley Moses gained 11 points for Peristeri.

Next week, Peristeri will host Nymburk in the Athenian suburb while Bamberg make the trip to Tenerife.

PROMITHEAS WIN AGAIN

In their previous EuroCup game, Promitheas had conceded a disappointing loss to Monaco on the road, but they compensated for that defeat with an exciting 82-77 victory against ratiopharm Ulm in Patras.

Oleksandr Lypovyy registered 16 points for Promitheas. The Greeks will next play against Bologna in the EuroCup as they aim to gain their seventh victory in Group A.
