Paschalakis to miss Aris clash

Following his obscene gestures made towards the crowd in a Super League match against OFI in Heraklion, PAOK goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis has been handed a one-game ban, meaning he will miss the Greek Cup duel with Aris.

Last week, PAOK recovered from an early setback to defeat OFI 3:1 on the road, but after Leo Matos netted the second goal for the visitors, goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis was witnessed making obscene gestures towards the home supporters. Despite PAOK offering an apology, the Super League Disciplinary Committee handed Paschalakis a one-match ban, however instead of missing the upcoming game with Olympiacos in the domestic championship, the 29-year old will sit out the headline Greek Cup fixture against Aris on Wednesday.

Argentinian Rodrigo Rey is expected to replace Paschalakis between the sticks when PAOK host Aris at 19:00 Greek time.
