Platanias fight back to defeat Apollon Larissa

Two second-half goals fired Platanias to a dramatic 2-1 triumph over Apollon Larissa on matchday 10 of the Super League 2 season.

Previously, Apollon Larissa had won their last four games in a row in the Super League 2, and they made the perfect start within four minutes as Mark Sifneos, who is playing on loan from Panathinaikos, hit the back of the net.

Defending solidly, the visitors kept Platanias off the board until the 65th minute, when Abdul Oues equalised for the home side.

The game looked to be heading for a draw, but, in the second minute of stoppage time, Giannis Loukinas grabbed a winner for Platanias.

Platanias were coming off the back of a 4-2 setback to AE Karaiskakis last week.

As a result of this win, Platanias climb to fifth position of the table, only trailing fourth-placed Apollon Larissa by the single point.

In their next game, Platanias will face Panachaiki in Patras, while Apollon Larissa host league leaders PAS Giannina.
