On December 19, Super League referee Tzilos was dragged out from his car and beaten up in broad daylight after arriving at work in Larissa. As a result, Greek police launched a full investigation, and reports previously stated that a vice-president of a Super League club could have masterminded the brutal attack. A 46-year old man, who is a resident of Faliro, has already been identified as the main attacker against Tzilos, with three other men assisting him.

The latest police reports indicate that there was contact between the 46-year old man in question, a football official and a vice-president of a Super League club via telephone. Police and the Larissa authorities are now analysing data discovered on the telephones of two attackers, the football official and the Super League club vice-president as the investigation progresses.

If the vice-president of the unnamed Super League club is found guilty of organising the attack, what could the punishments be? Alongside the punishment to be issued by the police, the vice-president would be banned from all football stadiums, and the club itself could be threatened with the risk of relegation. Punishments for the club also include points deductions and stadium bans, but considering the severity of this incident, relegation would be the most likely outcome.
