Prijovic creates history in record breaking season

Aleksandar Prijović: 27 goals in all competitions (2017/2018)

19 league goals, 6 Greek Cup goals, 2 European goals

The towering Prijović scored 19 league goals in 28 Super League appearances, grabbing two goals in one match on eight occasions during the campaign. Prijovic did score six penalties, but he won two of them and contributed with a further five assists. A season to remember for the 28-year old, who has become a regular starter with the Serbian national team.

Giorgos Koudas: 26 goals in all competitions (1968/1969)

20 league goals,  6 Greek Cup goals

Interestingly, Koudas scored both the first and last goal for PAOK in the 1968/1969 season. In only three Greek Cup matches, the forward struck two goals in every game, displaying his fantastic scoring abilities. A double against Panserraikos sealed the 20th goal of the campaign..

Giorgos Kostikos: 26 goals in all competitions (1981/1982)

19 league goals, 5 Greek Cup goals, 1 European goal

Finding the back of the net in seven away games, the potent Kostikos was a key man for PAOK, scoring two goals in one match four times throughout the season. Kostikos found his scoring boots for the Greek Cup too, registering five goals in the road to glory.

Stefanos Athanasiadis: 23 goals in all competitions (2012/2013)

19 league goals, 2 Greek Cup goals, 2 European goals

Athanasiadis was in the PAOK junior squad from 1998 and worked his way through the ranks of the academy to the first team. He scored goals in matches against arch rivals Aris and also AEK, while securing the equaliser in a 1:1 home draw with Olympiacos. He was named vice-captain of the club behind Dimitris Salpingidis and had the pleasure to wear the captain's armband on many occasions.

Anestis Afendolidis: 23 goals in all competitions (1967/1968)

14 league goals, 5 Greek Cup goals, 4 European goals

During an amazing start to the season, Afendolidis scored in the maiden four European games and in the opening match of the new Greek football year. In 42 fixtures, the striker gained a decent return of 19 goals, with his best performance coming in a Greek Cup 6:0 victory where he netted a memorable hat-trick.

Kostas Frantzeskos: 22 goals in all competitions in (1997/1998)

17 league goals, 1 Greek Cup goal, 4 European goals

One goal that stands out in PAOK’s history was his winner in the first leg of the 1997/1998 UEFA Cup opening round against Arsenal in Thessaloniki, a marker which helped the Dikefalos advance to the next round. PAOK went on to win the tie 2:1 on aggregate.

Lambis Kouiroukidis: 22 goals in all competitions in (1953/1954)

2 National Division goals, 12 Thessaloniki Championship goals, 8 Greek Cup goals

He was PAOK's first footballer in history to break the 20-goal barrier in a season, scoring 22 in 25 matches. 

Stavros Sarafis: 21 goals in all competitions in (1969/1970)

17 league goals, 4 Greek Cup goals

Sarafis spent his entire career playing for PAOK, where he managed to rack up a large 358 appearances with the club. Overall, his best season for PAOK was in the 1969/1970 campaign, as he managed to pick up two hat tricks and score 17 league goals.

Achilleas Aslanidis: 21 goals in all competitions (1973/1974)

16 league goals, 3 Greek Cup goals, 2 European goals

In an eight year spell with PAOK, Aslanidis participated in 186 matches and scored 55 goals before leaving to complete his career with Athenian club Panathinaikos. During his stand-out  year for the Thessaloniki outfit, he hit the target against Panathinaikos and AEK in the national championship and also beat the Olympiacos and Enosis goalkeepers in the Greek Cup.

Kostas Orfanos: 21 goals in all competitions (1977/1978)

15 league goals, 5 Greek Cup goals, 1 European goal

Orfanos started his career at PAOK in 1975, being a part of the team which won the Alpha Ethniki championship a year later. In 1980, Orfanos joined PAOK's rivals Olympiacos winning three successive league titles in 1981, 1982 and 1983. He also gained eight caps for the Greek national team.

Dimitris Salpingidis: 20 goals in all competitions (2005/2006)

17 league goals, 3 European goals

In the 2005/2006 season, the diminutive and fiery Salpingidis was the league’s top scorer with 17 goals. After seven years at PAOK, the forward endured spells at AEL and Kavala on loan before making a permanent move to Panathinaikos. He then returned to PAOK in 2010, enjoying another five seasons in Thessaloniki and later retiring. In his two stints for PAOK he made 262 appearances and scored 90 goals.

Robert Mak: 20 goals in all competitions (2015/2016)

7 league goals, 4 Greek Cup goals, 9 European goals

Mak was in fantastic form in PAOK’s Europa League qualifying campaign, then scoring in a memorable 2:1 victory at Borussia Dortmund. The Slovakian signed for Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2016, but after a disappointing season in Russia, he returned to Thessaloniki with PAOK and won the 2018 Greek Cup.
