In the first game of the series, Promitheas had a golden opportunity to beat AEK having made a dramatic comeback, but the Patras outfit missed their chance in the dying seconds. Nevertheless, they made no such mistake on Saturday, keeping AEK at bay to win 74-65 and tie the series score at 1:1.

Langston Hall led Promitheas in scoring with 19 points, one rebound and three assists to his name. Gabe York tallied 13 points for AEK with Jordan Theodore grabbing six rebounds.

Game three will take place at the OAKA Indoor Hall on Monday.

THE MATCH

Initially, Promitheas made a slow start to proceedings, with AEK gaining a slender two-point lead in the first quarter. However, the hosts clicked into gear towards the end of the second frame, embarking on a 10-1 scoring run to gain an advantage.

Throughout the majority of the third quarter, AEK kept pace with Promitheas, but a poor end to the stanza resulted in their opponents moving ahead by eight points.

In the fourth, the Kitrinomavri did get within five at one point, but Promitheas weren’t to be denied and held on to make it 1:1 in the semi-final series. Hall’s accurate three-pointer at 67-62 proved to be the dagger.
