A double from Marko Nunic and further goals from Radomir Mirosavljevic and Kernan Bargan gave the Vissini all three points against Jose Anigo’s Panthers, who played for 51 minutes with 10 players after Sotiris Tsiloulis was sent-off.

Giorgos Masouras and Fiorin Durmishaj were on target for Panionios, who lost for the first time in five matches. The result lifted Larissa away from the lower reaches of the SuperLeague standings up to 10th place with 14 points, while Panionios remain in eight spot three points better off.

The home side started brightly and hit the woodwork through Nunic after 10 minutes, but the same player did hit the back of the net four minutes later to open the scoring for Gianluca Festa’s team.

Masouras soon levelled matters after 18 minutes, and both sides seemed evenly-matched up to the 39th minute when the crucial moment came with Tsiloulis’ dismissal. The midfielder was deservedly given an early bath for a bad foul on AEL’s Bulgarian defender Hristofor Hubchev.

From that point on there was only going to be one winner as the home side enjoyed long spells of possession and found plenty of gaps in the visitors’ defence.

Two quick goals within five minutes from Mirosavljevic and Bargan made it 3-1 to Larissa, and Nunic scored his second of the night after 64 minutes to extend the lead to 4-1.

Panionios grabbed an added time consolation strike through Albanian forward Durmishaj, but there was no danger of a comeback as the home side comfortably saw out the remainder of the match.
