With Georgios Vlassopoulos’ men finishing the group phase with a 2-1 record and in second place in Group A behind hosts Latvia, Greece will now face France in the Round of 16.

France, who beat Greece in the fifth-place bracket last summer in Slovakia, finished the group stage in third place in Group B following a blowout loss against Germany on Tuesday.

The winner of the Greece-France matchup on Wednesday will meet the winner of the tie featuring Spain and Montenegro in the quarterfinals.

The other half of Greece’s side of the bracket sees defending champions Serbia lock horns with the Ukraine, while Group B winners Germany clash with Croatia.

Meanwhile, Latvia will clash with Turkey on the other side of the bracket with the victors set to meet the winner of the tie featuring Great Britain and Finland in the quarterfinals.

Last summer’s bronze medalists, Lithuania will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 16 with both sides keen to advance for a meeting against either Russia or Italy.
