Rosa magic sinks Aris in Agrinio

Aris slipped to a surprise 2-0 defeat to lowly Panetolikos on Sunday evening as the Agrinio club’s Brazilian winger Farley Rosa produced an impressive display to claim all three points for the home side.

The 26-year-old Brazilian scored two second half goals after 58 and 73 minutes to stun Michael Oenning’s Aris side at the Panetolikos Stadium and record only the club’s second win of what has been a troubled campaign.

The result has breathed new life into Panetolikos’ survival chances, as the Agrinio club have now collected 13 points and are just eight points adrift of Asteras Tripolis, who occupy 12th place above them.

The defeat is a disappointing one for Aris, who did not deliver enough quality in this Matchday 21 clash to deserve something for their efforts. The Thessaloniki club on 29 points, just two points clear of OFI and Xanthi.
