Sa played a major role in Olympiacos’ romp to the Super League crown. In wonderful form throughout the campaign, the 27-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper stood out with his reliability between the sticks, recording an impressive 29 clean sheets across all competitions. Predictably, 22 of them were tallied in the Super League, as he incredibly only conceded a combined total of 12 goals in the regular season and championship playoffs. Furthermore, in yet Sport24 released a report stating that Sa has more shutouts than any other starting goalkeeper in Europe, beating the likes of Manuel Neuer and Alisson Becker.

It’s also worth noting that Sa didn’t concede a single goal in five of the six UEFA Champions League qualifiers against Viktoria Plzen, Basaksehir and Krasnodar last summer. Valued at 2.8 million euros by Transfermarkt, Sa is due to remain at Olympiacos for at least another three years, but rumours have suggested that plenty of foreign teams are interested in acquiring his services.

Other statistical data continues to display Olympiacos’ pure dominance in Greece this season.

Veterans Youssef El Arabi and Mathieu Valbuena, both picked up on the market last year, finished in first place of the scoring (20) and assist (13) departments respectively. Furthermore, Olympiacos created the largest amount of chances and completed more passes than anyone else, as the Erythrolefki controlled tempo of practically every Super League game. Pedro Martins certainly deserves plenty of credit for creating such a consistent, united team which blew everyone out of the water in the league after two consecutive seasons without a title.

There is still more glory up for grabs for both Sa and Olympiacos in general. In August, Olympiacos are due to compete against Wolves for a place in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, and the Greek Cup final with AEK is expected to eventually be held at the end of next month.
