Hosting relegation-doomed Panionios at the Karaiskakis Stadium, Olympiacos were expected to comfortably claim all three points, and the Piraeus-based club duly cruised to a routine 4-0 triumph as Ahmed Hassan, Kostas Fortounis and Youssef El Arabi - twice - hit the target. At the AEL FC Arena, PAOK were given a sterner test by AE Larissa, however two excellent first-half goals from Dimitris Limnios and Douglas Augusto handed the reigning champions a 2-1 victory which keeps them within two points of leaders Olympiacos.

In Thessaloniki, ever-improving AEK earned an impressive 1-0 victory at Aris, with Christos Almpanis scoring the only goal in the fifth minute after receiving an intelligent pass from Serbian midfielder Nenad Krsticic. Panathinaikos, trailing fourth-placed AEK by seven points, got back to winning ways this week, seeing off the challenge of Panetolikos 3-1 at the Olympic Stadium as Giorgos Vagiannidis, Ghayas Zahid and Federico Macheda found the net. Panetolikos, for their part, are 12 points behind Volos NFC, with their future in the Super League looking rather bleak.

Elsewhere, OFI tightened their grip on sixth spot with a tense 1-0 victory against Heraklion on Monday evening, Asteras Tripolis defeated Volos NFC 1-0 on the road with another goal from Milos Deletic and Xanthi and Lamia played to a goalless draw.

Player of the Week: Youssef El Arabi (Olympiacos)

The Moroccan forward cannot stop scoring. In Piraeus, El Arabi bagged another pair of goals for Olympiacos at point blank range, with the Erythrolefki thrashing Panionios 4-0. The 33-year-old now boasts 17 goals in the Super League this season.

Goal of the Week: Douglas Augusto (PAOK)

A candidate for goal of the season. On the brink of the half-time break, Douglas took aim from long range in Larissa, lashing a powerful, swerving drive beyond the AEL goalkeeper high into the left corner. The sweetest of strikes.
