In Heraklion, it wasn’t a classic between OFI and Olympiacos, but one goal from Mohamed Camara on the stroke of the half-time break was enough for the latter to gain an important 1-0 victory which keeps them in first place of the standings. A day later, it was a similar story for PAOK, who edged past Lamia 1-0 on the road thanks to a goal from Leo Matos in the 33rd minute of play which secured the three points for the Dikefalos tou Vorra. PAOK, occupying second position of the table, continue to trail Olympiacos by just the one point.

Under the leadership of Massimo Carrera, AEK are beginning to finally find consistency and momentum, and the Enosis produced a solid performance to defeat Volos NFC 3-1 away from home with three goals from Marios Oikonomou, Christos Almpanis and Viktor Klonaridis. Nevertheless, with Olympiacos and PAOK also winning their games, AEK are still stranded in a rather distant third place, 13 points behind the Erythrolefki.

Panathinaikos are also rapidly gaining traction. On Wednesday, it promised to be a tough test against Atromitos at the Olympic Stadium, but the Prasini eased to a routine 3-0 victory as Dimitris Kourbelis, Bart Schenkeveld and Juan Jose Perea struck gold. Having now strung three successive Super League wins together, Panathinaikos are two points ahead of Aris in fourth, while Atromitos are five points behind in seventh spot.

Elsewhere, a second-half penalty from Bruno Gama helped Aris defeat Xanthi 1-0 in Thessaloniki, Asteras Tripolis inflicted another defeat on seemingly doomed Panionios and Panetolikos were held to a 2-2 draw at AE Larissa.

Player of the Week: Abiola Dauda (Panetolikos)

Dauda has made the perfect start to life at lowly Panetolikos. During the first half of the campaign, he struggled to make an impact at AEL, but the Nigerian forward boasts three goals in just two games for Panetolikos since transferring to the Agrinio-based organisation in January. Dauda scored twice against his former employers on Tuesday, but two penalties from Amr Warda ensured that the game ended level.

Goal of the Week: Dimitris Kourbelis (Panathinaikos)

What a hit from the inspirational Panathinaikos captain. Receiving the ball outside of the penalty area, Kourbelis decided to try his luck, and he thumped a fantastic strike high into the right corner beyond the flailing dive of Balazs Megyeri. A goal worthy of winning any game.
