The Erythrolefki mean business. To their credit, Atromitos held firm at the Karaiskakis Stadium during the first half, but Olympiacos eventually made their superiority count as Daniel Podence and Hillal Soudani scored two quick-fire goals which secured a 2-0 triumph. Olympiacos were forced to end the game with only 10 players on the pitch after Avraam Papadopoulos received a red card.

PAOK are keeping within touching distance. Last week, the Dikefalos tou Vorra could only play to a 2-2 draw with Panathinaikos, but the reigning champions got back on track with a tough 1-0 triumph over OFI in Heraklion. Josip Misic scored the only goal with a fantastic strike midway through the second half.

Matchday 10 will be remembered for the pulsating Athenian derby between Panathinaikos and AEK. Initially, AEK appeared to be coasting to victory as two goals from Michalis Bakakis and Nelson Oliveira handed the Enosi a 2-0 lead, but Federico Macheda, Jose Juan Perea and Dimitris Kolovetsios all scored for Panathinaikos in the latter stages of the second half to earn a stunning 3-2 win for the hosts. As a result of their memorable win, Panathinaikos climb to eighth, while third-placed AEK are now nine points behind Olympiacos as their title hopes continue to fade.

Volos NFC snapped their five-game losing streak with an entertaining 3-2 win against Panetolikos at home. Interestingly, with 10 rounds now in the books, Panetolikos remain the only Super League club not to win a single league game this season. The Agrinio have three points on the board from as many draws.

Aris edged past Asteras Tripolis 2-1 in Thessaloniki, Panionios claimed a surprise 2-1 win at high-flying Xanthi and Lamia shocked AE Larissa 3-0 on the road to prevent their opponents from moving into third position. This was AEL’s first league defeat since September 15.

Player of the Week: Bachana Arabuli (Panionios)

Panionios have finally wiped out their six-point deficit as they recorded their second win of the campaign. Bachana Arabuli, who joined the Nea Smyrni club in the summer, took a leading role in the hugely important victory at Xanthi as he scored twice from close range. The 25-year-old Georgian has now scored five Super League goals in the current season.

Goal of the Week: Giannis Skondras (Lamia)

Two goals from the 29-year-old - his first league markers since the 2017/2018 season - fired Lamia to an emphatic 3-0 triumph at AEL. His first in the 64th minute was particularly impressive. Taking aim from well outside the penalty area, Skondras lashed a thunderous effort into the left corner. The sweetest of strikes.
