EMMANOUILIDIS SCORES LANDMARK GOAL FOR PANIONIOS

Dimitris Emmanouilidis is finally off the mark. Ever since Emmanouilidis joined Panionios on loan from Panathinaikos in the summer, the development of the talented 19-year-old attacker has somewhat stalled, but he grabbed the headlines on Saturday with a last-gasp equaliser against Olympiacos. The goal was his first in the Super League for the Nea Smyrni club.

Emmanouilidis became the 300th Panionios player to score a goal in the top flight. In addition, the Greek youth international is the maiden Panthers representative born in 2000 to hit the back of the net in the Super League.

The teenager had previously scored two goals in a 3-0 triumph at Olympiacos Volos in the Greek Cup this season.

AEK, OLYMPIACOS AND PANATHINAIKOS ALL DRAW

AEK, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos all failed to win this weekend, as Aris, Panionios and Panetolikos held them to draws respectively. PAOK, on the other hand, defeated AE Larissa 1-0 at the Toumba Stadium to move into joint first position of the standings with Olympiacos.

The last time when AEK, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos all drew their three separate matches in one Super League round was on the 29th matchday of the 2006/2007 season:

AEK - Xanthi - 0-0 (29/04/2007)

Aigaleo - Olympiacos - 1-1 (29/04/2007)

AEL - Panathinaikos - 1-1 (29/04/2007)

However, in the sixth round of the 2018/2019 campaign, AEK and Olympiacos played to a 1-1 draw while Panathinaikos drew 1-1 against Asteras Tripolis.

LACK OF GOALS

There was a distinct lack of goals this weekend in the Super League. Overall, only nine goals were scored across the seven games, with two of those matches ending in 0-0 draws. Asteras Tripolis, Volos NFC, Panetolikos and Panathinaikos were the teams involved in the games which ended goalless.

The last time when only nine goals were scored during one matchday was in the ninth round of the 2018/2019 Super League season, as the Panathinaikos - AEK, PAS Giannina - Lamia and OFI - Apollon Smyrnis games all finished 0-0.

Nevertheless, the goals have generally been flowing in the 2019/2020 Super League so far, with a grand total of 204 having been scored in the opening 11 rounds. Last year, the goal average after 11 rounds was 2.17 with 16 clubs participating in the league, but this time around the goal average stands at 2.67. PAOK are the leading scorers with 22 goals on the board.

VIEIRINHA REACHES 200 PAOK APPEARANCES

The importance of Vieirinha to PAOK cannot be underestimated. The 33-year-old, who became a European champion in 2016 with Portugal, has now participated in 200 PAOK matches across all competitions as he continues to enhances his legendary status at the club. Fittingly, Vieirinha played a key role in the victory against AEL on Sunday, as his whipped cross from the right wing was hooked into the net by Karol Swiderski.

Vieirinha has claimed one Super League title and two Greek Cups with PAOK. As a tribute, the Dikefalos tou Vorra released this following video:
