PANATHINAIKOS STRING UNBEATEN RUN TOGETHER

Panathinaikos refuse to lose. In Heraklion, the Athenians seemed to be on their way to a disappointing 1-0 defeat after Joao Figueiredo scored and Bart Schenkeveld received a red card, but, with six minutes remaining, Federico Macheda converted a penalty to secure an important 1-1 draw.

The Prasini are now unbeaten in seven consecutive Super League games since their 2-1 home loss to AE Larissa on October 27. During that period, Panathinaikos have claimed wins against AEK, Asteras and Lamia, while drawing with PAOK, Panetolikos, Volos NFC and now OFI.

Panathinaikos will hope to get back to winning ways on Sunday when Aris visit the Olympic Stadium.

PAOK CONTINUE STUNNING UNDEFEATED STREAK

Competing against Panionios on the road, PAOK required a big second half to tally the three points, as Sverrir Ingi Ingason and Chuba Akpom scored two goals to defeat their gritty opponents 2-0 in Nea Smyrni.

Incredibly, PAOK are now undefeated in 50 successive Super League games, with their last loss having been suffered on March 4, 2018, against Asteras Tripolis away from home. In the current campaign, the Dikefalos tou Vorra have tiltered on the brink of defeat on a couple of occasions, notably salvaging draws against Aris and Panathinaikos with last-gasp equalisers.

PAOK have also not conceded any goals in open play since a 2-2 draw with Panathinaikos on November 3.

OLYMPIACOS SCORING FOR FUN

Hosting AEL at the Karaiskakis Stadium, Olympiacos once again enjoyed a first-half blitz, scoring four answered goals through Giorgos Masouras (2), Hillal Soudani and Youssef El Arabi. In the second frame, Amr Warda did grab a consolation for the Larissa outfit, but it made little difference to the outcome.

Olympiacos have now scored at least three goals in the first half of their last three Super League matches, defeating Panetolikos (3-0), Asteras Tripolis (5-0) and AEL (4-1) with ease. This is the first time in Alpha Ethniki/Super League history when a team has scored three goals in the opening 45 minutes of three matches in a row.
