FIRST 0-0 DRAW AT TOUMBA IN 1382 DAYS

PAOK are continuing to endure a poor playoff campaign. Following their recent results, the Dikefalos tou Vorra needed the three points against Panathinaikos to keep within two points of second-placed AEK, but they were held to a 0-0 draw at the Toumba Stadium. PAOK are now four points behind AEK with only three rounds of the playoffs remaining.

The first two positions of the championship grant a berth in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Interestingly, this was the first time since 25 September 2016 when PAOK played to a 0-0 home draw in the Super League, with 1382 days having passed following their goalless tie with Xanthi almost four years ago. 63 successive home games for PAOK in the Super League had seen at least one goal scored.

CHYGRYNSKIY MAKES 100TH AEK APPEARANCE

Taking advantage of PAOK’s dropped points, AEK increased their advantage in second spot of the table to a commanding four points, calmly defeating OFI 2-0 at the Olympic Stadium thanks to two first-half goals from Nelson Oliveira and Stratos Svarnas. AEK have won three consecutive games in the playoffs as Massimo Carrera’s men seemingly steem towards the Champions League.

Dmytro Chygrynskiy, who was used as a substitute in the 80th minute of play, has now made 100 competitive AEK appearances across all competitions. The Ukrainian centre-back has participated in 66 Super League matches, 19 in the Greek Cup and 15 in European tournaments.
