Competing remotely from her home training base in Athens, the Greek was hoping that the three competitors could collectively clear the bar 100 times. That did not happen, as the women had just 85 clearances. American Katie Nageotte finished in second place with 30 clearances, while Canada’s Alysha Newman came third with 21 clearances.

Competitors had 30 minutes to clear the bar as many times as possible, and the format included two 15 minute rounds with a five-minute break in between. Stefanidi cleared the bar 19 times after the first round, and another 15 (with two misses) in the second round. Those misses cost Stefanidi, as she had to put the bar back up by herself, which wasted time. Otherwise, she likely would have beaten the men’s record of 36 clearances from two weeks ago. The Greek also had to endure brutal weather conditions on an unbearably hot day in Athens.

Regardless, the event was largely seen as a success, with thousands of viewers tuning in from all over the world. Additionally, each of the three competitors enjoyed themselves while entertaining the online viewers and promoting their sport.
