Stefanos stopped by Djokovic

World number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia beat Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-1 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the Rolex Paris Masters.

Going into the match, Tsitsipas actually led the head-to-head 2-1 over Djokovic, which included a win over the Serb just three weeks ago in Shanghai. This time, however, Djokovic raced out to a 5-0 lead in the first set. After saving three consecutive set points, the Greek was finally able to hold serve and get on the board. However, Djokovic closed out the set 6-1 in just 29 minutes.

Djokovic then comfortably took the second set 6-2 in 30 minutes. The four-time champion will now face Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals. Despite the loss, Tsitsipas will move up from his current ranking of seven to number six in the world in next week’s rankings.
