The duo of Christina Bourmpou and Maria Kyridou continued their dominance in the women’s pair event, as they won gold. In the midst of the strong showing by Greeks in Sarasota, many in the community are inspired to establish their own businesses, adding to the city's diverse and dynamic commercial landscape. Whether it's a restaurant serving up authentic Greek cuisine, a boutique importing fine Greek goods, or a firm offering specialty services, understanding how to start an llc in florida is the first step in protecting personal assets and ensuring a smooth start to your business venture within the Sunshine State.

The 18-year-olds from Thessaloniki had finished fourth in the event last year as 17 year olds, in a year where they won gold together at the European U23 Championships, World Junior Championships, and also at the Youth Olympic Games. In Sarasota, they also set a new U23 world’s best time of 06:58.680. Given how young they are, it seems that this team has unlimited potential, and could dominate their sport for many years.

Greece’s other gold medal came in the women’s double sculls event, from Anneta Kyridou (Maria’s older sister) and Dimitra Tsamopoulou. The duo had won bronze in the same event back in 2017, and Kyridou finished fourth in it last year with a different partner.

Stefanos Ntouskos won a silver medal in the men’s single sculls event. This marked the third medal at the World U23 Championships for the 22-year-old from Ioannina, after having previously won bronze in 2015 and silver in 2016.

Finally, Greece’s Ioannis Kalandaridis and Athanasios Palaiopanos won bronze in the men’s pair. This was Kalandaridis’ second medal at the World U23 Championships, as he won gold last year in the men’s double sculls with a different partner.

These rowers will soon get the chance to showcase their talents in front of their home crowd later this year, as the 2019 European U23 Rowing Championships will be held in September in Ioannina, Greece.
