The organisation released this following statement after a video conference on Monday:

“During today’s teleconference of the Super League Board of Directors, the representative of FC Atromitos Athens, Katia Koxenoglou, was unanimously elected to the position of deputy chairman of the Board of the organising authority.

“The 2019/2020 Super League table between positions 7-14 was validated by a majority.

“It was unanimously proposed to start the Super League playoffs and playouts on the weekend of June 6-7, and an approval request will now be sent to the relevant institutions.

“The participation of the Super League in the World Leagues Forum was unanimously approved.”

All that remains is the green light from the Hellenic state, which is expected to be issued without any issues. A health protocol concerning the staging of games will be ratified.

Furthermore, the government has permitted teams to begin full group training sessions again at their respective bases, meaning that clubs do have almost three full weeks in which to calmly prepare for the start of the playoffs and playouts. Matches will be held behind closed doors as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Olympiacos, PAOK, AEK, Panathinaikos, OFI and Aris qualified for the championship playoffs, while Atromitos, AE Larissa, Asteras Tripolis, Lamia, Volos NFC, Xanthi, Panetolikos and Panionios dropped into the relegation playouts. Reports have stated that the Super League season will subsequently be completed on July 19.
