Super League reveal most frequently witnessed scorelines

The Super League organisation recently revealed the most frequently witnessed scorelines in the championship, while Sotiris Pestrovas remains the only defender to score four goals in one game.

Overall, if we take into account all regular season, playoff and playout games in the Alpha Ethniki/Super League, 38 different scorelines have been witnessed. As it stands, 1-0 is the most frequent scoreline in the top tier of Greek football, with 3372 matches having finished with that particular result. Of those games, the home team has won 1-0 on 2292 occasions, while away sides have claimed victories by the same score 1075 times. 

The scorelines of 2-0, 0-0 and 3-0 are just behind.

Interestingly, scores of 10-0, 11-0, 5-5, 7-3, 8-3 and 9-0 have only been recorded once. 

Furthermore, Kostas Nestoridis was the scorer of the maiden hat-trick in Alpha Ethniki history, registering three goals in a game between Ionikos Nikaia and Ethnikos on March 6, 1960. In addition, Sotiris Pestrovas was the first player to score four goals in the domestic championship, and to date he remains the only defender in the league to tally four markers in one match.
