Bayern Munich was the 16th and final team to book their ticket in next year’s Euroleague. The Munich side won the German Basketball Bundesliga crown on Saturday, confirming their place in Europe’s premier club basketball competition for the new year.

Like this season, the Euroleague will consist of 16 teams with 11 of those teams housing a 10-year contract with the Euroleague Basketball company, ensuring their place in the competition regardless of their final domestic placement. Greek giants, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, are two of those teams along with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Baskonia, CSKA Moscow, Armani Milano, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Fenerbahce, Anadolu Efes, and Zalgiris.

In addition to Bayern Munich, four other teams earned their place in the Euroleague, including: Darussafaka (EuroCup Champions), Buducnost (Adriatic  League Champion), Gran Canaria (Spanish ACB League semi-finalists), and Khimki (VTB League finalists).

The Euroleague will have the same format as this past season with a 16-team regular season, where each team will play the other in home and away fixtures, follow by an 8-team best of five playoff series. The four winners from the playoffs will advance to the single game Final-4 which will be hosted at the Fernando Buesa Arena in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain in May 2018
