President Ivan Savvidis spent over 500,000 euros for PAOK’s memorable fiesta where the club celebrated their first Super League title in 34 years.

On Sunday, PAOK clinched their first Super League title in 34 years and what followed was a fiesta that will be remembered for some time for PAOK fans. The celebrations began at the Toumba stadium after the club defeated Levadiakos and lifted the Super League trophy, and continued into the night at the Lefko Pyrgo (White Tower) in Thessaloniki. The jubilant scenes made headlines across the footballing world.

According to the Greek newspaper Sportime, Ivan Savvidis dished out over 500,000 euros for the fiesta. The newspaper’s report mentions:

PAOK’s major shareholder asked for an impressive fiesta to be held, one that the club’s fans could enjoy, as they have waited for this title for 34 years. According to reports, the fiesta cost 500,000 euros, an enormous amount for an event, which was worthy of the set expectations and one that saw the made the whole world talk about.

In addition to the money spent for the celebrations, the players will split a bonus of 2 million euros for winning the league title, an amount promised in the players’ contract. This does not include any additional bonuses that Ivan Savvidis’ may give out to his players and coaching staff.
