Tsimikas, Kyriakopoulos two of the 10 best left-backs born in 1996

In accordance with statistics provided by Transfermarkt, both Konstantinos Tsimikas and Giorgos Kyriakopoulos are among the 10 most valuable left-backs born in 1996.

Tsimikas, 23, is fast transforming into a star of Greek football. A key member of Pedro Martins’ team in Piraeus, the full-back has been superb for Olympiacos on the left side of defence, contributing with seven assists across all competitions while standing out with his energetic, fast and tireless approach. According to the latest reports, the likes of Napoli, Internazionale and Lokomotiv Moscow are all eager to sign Tsimikas in the upcoming transfer window, with Olympiacos demanding a hefty fee for one of their best players.

Another Greek left-back impressing with his performances is Giorgos Kyriakopoulos.

On loan at Sassuolo from Asteras Tripolis, the 24-year-old has enjoyed a solid debut Serie A campaign in Italy, participating in 15 league matches and popping up with three assists. Initially, Kyriakopoulos was left on the bench in the opening stages of the campaign, but he subsequently earned an opportunity which he took full advantage of. It remains to be seen where Kyriakopoulos continues his career once the loan deal from Asteras, who are eager to cash in, ends.

On Transfermarkt, both Tsimikas and Kyriakopoulos are among the 10 most valuable left-backs born in 1996, with the former in eighth spot (3.5 million euros) and the latter not far behind in 10th (2.4 million). Ben Chilwell of Everton (40 million) and Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko (24 million) occupy the first two positions of the list:
