Unstoppable Olympiacos win in Hungary
 

LEN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - PREL. ROUND, GROUP A (MATCHDAY 4)

Olympiacos are now in first place out of eight teams in Group A, after winning 8-7 away over Szolnoki VSC in the LEN Champions League.

The Erythrolefki, who held a 3-0 record this season going into today’s match, found themselves up 3-2 after the first period of play. They then maintained a 6-5 lead going into halftime. The visitors then extended their lead to 8-6 after three periods. A late goal from the Hungarians saw them reduce Olympiacos’ lead to 8-7, which would be the final score.

Stefan Mitrovic and Emmanouil Mylonakis led Olympiacos with two goals each. The Erythrolefki will be back in action on November 19, as they will host Germany’s Spandau 04, who are currently winless in Champions League play. The Germans were in Olympiacos’ group last season, and the Greeks won both meetings by seven or more goals.
