Skibbe has regularly been seen at Atromitos’ home matches in Peristeri, closely keeping an eye on possible national team candidates. One player which has stood out above the rest is Vasilakakis, the 29-year old midfielder who is enjoying a superb season with Atromitos. In his debut campaign with the capital club, Vasilakakis has registered four goals and one assist in the Super League, impressing with his overall play. According to reports emerging from the Greek media, Skibbe is tempted to give Vasilakakis a chance with the Ethniki Omada in the friendly games with Switzerland (March 23) and Egypt (March 27). Atromitos right-back Kyriakos Kivrakidis, boasting two goals in the 2017/2018 season, is also rumoured to be on Skibbe’s list of players to watch.

Previously on AGONAsport, it was reported that Panagiotis Tsintotas (AEK), Konstantinos Galanopoulos (AEK) and Dimitris Limnios (PAOK) are on Skibbe’s radar for March’s friendly fixtures. If they all make an impression when gifted an opportunity for Greece, it could offer real hope to fans that a talented set of players is about to revive the national team’s fortunes on the international stage.
