CYPRIOT SOCCER CUP: The first leg of the Cyprus Coca-Cola Cup semifinals took place on Wednesday with AEL Limassol and APOEL Nicosia gaining an advantage over Apollon Limassol and Enosis Neon Paralimniou, respectively. AEL prevailed in the Limassol derby with a 2:1 scoreline thanks to two goals from Ruben Jurado while in Nicosia, a late goal from Giorgos Merkis gave APOEL a slender 1:0 win. CYPRUS NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM: The Cypriot national team announced their squad for their first two UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers, as selected by their manager from Israel, Ran Ben Shimon. Both matches will be at home, first against San Marino on March 21st and then against Belgium on March 24th. All home matches for the UEFA Euro 2020 campaign will be held at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus.
