Jonathan Drouin was Cheered by the Crowd During the Intra-Team Game at the Bell Centre in Montreal!

This is a first win for Jonathan Drouin in Sunday afternoon's game. The Canadian professional ice hockey player stepped on the ice on Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson's left wing for the Red team. And yet, there was no real stake. It was a simple game between the reds and whites. But there were 7,500 spectators, many of them young children, in the stands of the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Ice Hockey, One of the Most Popular Sports in Canada

Since the emergence of online bookmakers, online sports betting in Canada has been an integral part of the daily lives of thousands of Canadians. Although not viewed in the same way as American football, baseball or basketball, ice hockey is hugely popular in Canada and remains the most popular sport in the country today. The most popular ice hockey league in the world is the National Hockey League of North America, better known by the acronym NHL. This league brings together 30 teams spread between Canada and the United States. Each of them plays 82 games in the regular season, half at home, the other half away. Ice hockey is therefore the sport which represents the greatest number of licensees in Canada. Two teams, with six players on the field each, compete in three periods of twenty minutes, knowing that the clock is stopped at each stoppage of play. It is of course the team that scores the most goals who is designated the winner of the match.

The Number 92 Acclaimed by Raving Fans!

Jonathan Drouin, the talented 26 year old, did not score in the regulation 60 minutes of the Whites' game against the Reds on Sunday afternoon. He also didn't score in the ensuing extra time and was saved from a save as he opened the shootout after the game. At the end of the match, the player participated in a shootout. He didn't outsmart Cayden Primeau, but he still made fans jump from their seats, who were just looking to cheer him on and salute his return. From the first to the last time, he touched the puck in the game, number 92 received enthusiastic applause from the spectators in the stadium. The welcome from the fans was as sincere as it was warm. Christian Dvorak, who was playing his first game in front of his new fans in the French uniform, said: "It looked like there were 20,000 in the stands as the applause was loud! It gave chills! ".

Dvorak Settles in Slowly

Evolving to the left of Christian Dvorak in a line complemented by Josh Anderson, Jonathan Drouin clearly did not have a great game. But in the absence of Mike Hoffman (the Canadiens have confirmed they will miss the next month of activity with a hip injury) the trio Dvorak, Drouin and Anderson could very well be sent off on the ice by Dominique Ducharme, their coach, during the first game of the season in Toronto, Canada on October 13th. Player Dvorak said he was ready to take on any challenge he will be presented with: “I am able to play massive offense, sink penalties. I am ready to do anything to help the cause of the team. I still must find my bearings. The next matches will allow me to familiarize myself with new game systems. Everything has been going quickly since I arrived in Montreal. I must settle down on ice and in life. It will take a little while, but I am confident that I will be able to master everything before the start of the season”. Case to follow!
