The records continue to fall for Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Greek Freak’s ascendency to one of the NBA’s best players has etched the 25-year-old’s name all over the league’s record books.

On Monday, Antetokounmpo notched his 10,000th point as he led his Milwaukee Bucks side to a comfortable defeat of the Chicago Bulls and a seventh-straight win.

Antetokounmpo reached the mark on a jump hook with 4:30 remaining in the fourth quarter to become just the sixth player in league history to reach the mark and have received MVP honours by the age of 25.

The feat puts Antetokounmpo among the NBA’s elite as only the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bob MacAdoo, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant have been able to reach 10,000 points and win NBA MVP at age 25.

Antetokounmpo sits seventh among Bucks all-time scorers though he’s quickly closing in on Marques Johnson for sixth all-time. The aforementioned Abdul-Jabbar who scored 14,211 points for the Bucks before leaving Milwaukee for the Los Angeles Lakers, is the Bucks all-time scorer.

In terms of the NBA’s all-time scoring leaders, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar remains the runaway leader in points scored with a total of 38,387 points while LeBron James is the next closest with 33,599 points to date.

Antetokounmpo’s next chance to add to his tally will come on Friday night in Paris when the Bucks face the Charlotte Hornets in the French capital.
