AEK confirm Moreira signing


Angolan center Yanick Moreira has penned a one-year contract with AEK, the Athens-based organisation has confirmed.

AEK released this following statement on Thursday evening:

“Today (18/06), AEK BC announces that a contract has been signed with Yanick Moreira. The deal with the Angolan international center lasts until the end of the 2020/2021 season.”

During the 2019/2020 campaign, Moreira played a key role for Peristeri BC on their journey to the Last 16 of the Basketball Champions League, averaging 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds in the competition. The commanding 28-year-old also registered an average of 12.9 points and 6.7 rebounds with Peristeri in the domestic Basket League.

Moreira had transferred to Peristeri in November 2019.

Born in Luanda, Angola, Moreira has also previously played for the likes of Murcia, Parma PAOK and Bologna. He has competed at the FIBA World Cup with the Angolan national team.
